Apple has been taking baby steps in upgrading the iPhone since 2014. Tweaked antenna lines, new home button, but overall, the iPhone has stayed relatively the same. That’s the lens you need to examine the iPhone 8 with. It’s an incremental upgrade over the iPhone 7, nothing more.
But even so, there are people who will buy the iPhone 8 and there are major differences they need to know.
With the iPhone 7, Apple refined the design had by better integrating the antenna bands, slapping on a new coat of paint and changing the home button. A year later, seeing the phone in Matte Black or Jet Black is still impressive. The A10 Fusion chip hasn’t degraded in performance at all, delivering a zippy iOS 11 experience. Even the 12MP camera still takes excellent pictures. There’s really nothing to complain about it.
It’s the same story with the iPhone 8, just a little better.
