Even Apple fanboys can admit the iPhone 7 Plus is no match for Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8, a device that, at least for a while, holds the crown as the market’s most complete smartphone to date.
It’s plain to see why the Note 8 is superior when you compare the spec sheets. The Note 8 features wireless charging, while the iPhone 7 Plus does not. The Note 8 features expandable storage, while the iPhone 7 Plus does not. We can go on and on.
Meanwhile, Apple’s aluminum slab is no match for the Note 8’s elegant all-glass design. You also can’t argue against Samsung’s gorgeous display, which looks positively stunning in person, melting beautifully over each edge while featuring virtually no bezel.
These are not subjective observations. What is subjective, however, is the software experience; the debate of Android versus iOS will rage on until the apocalypse comes. But even then Samsung’s Note 8 makes a good argument to ditch iOS thanks to the device’s S Pen.
Of course, comparing a device that’s brand new with one that’s several months old is unfair. The real test for the Note 8 will come when the iPhone 8 launches in September. However, as far as we can tell, it’s going to be mighty hard for Apple to best Samsung’s latest flagship.
