Note 7 owners get a huge discount on the Note 8

Samsung is marching forward with its Note line and making its best efforts to erase the line’s past sins. It’s starting with a gorgeous follow-up in the Note 8 that is the phone of our dreams, but Samsung is going the extra mile by offering Note 7 owners a steep discount.

Former owners of the defunct Note 7 can trade in their current phone and receive up to a $425 discount off the Note 8. That will go a long away in decreasing the Note 8’s hefty price tag.

Samsung hasn’t been shy about owning up to the Note 7 disaster, and this deal is its latest move to make amends. During the Note 8 announcement, it displayed a video thanking customer for their loyalty. That was nice and all, but the sweet discount really puts their money where their mouth is. Good for you, Samsung.

Eligible customers can take advantage of the deal through Samsung’s site when the Note 8 pre-orders begin August 24.
