Apple’s True Tone display may come to the iPhone this year

Apple is expected to bring its True Tone display to more products this year. According to investment bank Barclays, and reported by MacRumors, Apple will include the new display technology in the next crop of iPhones.

The True Tone display was first announced alongside the 9.7-inch iPad Pro last year, but it never made its way into other devices, including the bigger 12.9-inch iPad Pro or iPhone 7. The report states the True Tone display will be available in three models: iPhone 7s, iPhone 7s Plus and iPhone 8. The naming scheme for the next iPhones hasn’t been confirmed, so this detail is subject to change.

The display feature isn’t high profile, but it was always expected Apple would add the feature to more products and use it as a selling point.
