The star of a beloved soap opera about a wealthy oil family was spotted making a rare outing in Los Angeles last week.
You may remember this actor as the family black sheep in both Dallas and its spin-off, Knots Landing.
His character had loads of fun on the show, including marrying and divorcing his wife twice, having an affair that he marries and then divorces, and developing a drinking problem, before getting back with his first wife.
This star was also a regular on The Young The Restless followed by an appearance in the 2013 Dallas reboot.
His acting career continued for decades, with an appearance in an episode of NCIS back in 2017.

Shackelford was spotted out in Los Angeles on Thursday, stepping out with the aid of his stroller.
He wore a blue sweater, matching polo, black trousers and trainers.
The Daily Mail has contacted a representative for Shackelford for comment.
Shackelford’s career dates back decades.
According to his IMDb, Shackelford launched his acting career with a role in the 1975 series Go before nabbing parts in Wonder Woman, Hotel, Big Hawaii, and more.
Only four years after getting his start would he land the part of Gary Ewing.
Starting in 1979, Shackelford famously portrayed the Ewing family outcast in both Knots Landing and Dallas.

He returned to the role for the 2013 Dallas reboot – a character which quickly came back to him.
‘There’s no magic here, man. I just learned the lines and showed up on time. It wasn’t that hard. It came back pretty fast,’ he told Dallas Decoder in 2013.
Interestingly, the role which Shackelford spent countless hours embodying was never someone he actually liked.
‘I thought he was weak. I thought he never thought anything through. I didn’t see any strength of character. I mean, just once I wanted him to have some courage. And I never saw that,’ he said.
The interviewer noted he interpreted Gary to have ‘mellowed out’ over the years – a trait Shackelford was surprised to hear.
‘Here’s the terrible truth about that: When you do a show for 14 years, after a few years, they run out of things for you to do! You’ve just about done them all!,’ Shackelford said. ‘I mean, you’ve bedded everybody, you’ve gotten drunk twice and you’re an alcoholic –
‘Been arrested for murder a few times –,’ the interviewer noted.
‘Yeah. You’ve gotten involved with mobsters. I mean, after that there’s not a whole lot they can do with you! So yeah, he does kind of mellow out because he’s just kind of there. They just kind of ran out things for him to do,’ Shackelford said.
