‘The Bachelor’ Trio Explain Why They Got ‘Emotional’ Filming the New Philosophy Campaign

Who needs a rose when you’ve got Philosophy’s cleansing balm? Kaitlyn Bristowe, Becca Tilley and Ashley Iaconetti found “The One” when it comes to their skincare regimen.

The Bachelor fan-favorites star in a playful new campaign, One Step to Love, promoting the Purity MadeSimple One-Step Meltaway Cleansing Balm — a product that checks all the boxes.

“I was already using Philosophy’s face wash,” Bristowe, 40, exclusively told Us Weekly of the dermatologist-endorsed beauty brand in a video interview. “I like when things naturally align like that. So that was obviously a yes. And then when I heard it was going to be with Ashley and Becca, I was like, I’ll pay you to go and do this, like, I will do anything to be a part of this campaign. That sounds so fun.”

The newest innovation is a buttery balm that lathers up, melts into the skin and easily rinses off long-wear makeup, waterproof mascara, SPF, daily buildup and pollutants for a silky smooth and fresh finish.

As far as the reality show concept goes, Bristowe — who appeared on season 19 of The Bachelor and season 11 of The Bachelorette — said, “We were like, no roses. We’re good on roses.”

Philosophy pulled out all the stops by incorporating “drama, romance and irresistible obsession of reality dating television into a beauty love story with the launch,” according to a press release, which states the cleanser is designed to make beauty lovers fall head over heels in just one step with a “playful spin” on the search for “The One.”

“We’re obviously like, you know, poking a little fun at dating shows in general,” Bristowe continued. “So it was hilarious, because we know what that’s like, and it was right up our alley.”

Bristowe told Us that at one point during the shoot, Iaconetti looked over at her and Tilley, who appeared on season 19 and 20 of The Bachelor, respectively, and said, “I literally feel like I’m on The Bachelor.” Bristowe added, “And I was like, why am I getting emotional? Because it felt like we were just thrown right back into the situation.”

Fellow season 19 Bachelor star Iaconetti, 37, noted how the experience gave her major nostalgia and flashbacks of her time on the hit show. It was “truly the closest I think we could ever get to feeling that feeling again,” she told Us, revealing the production setup was “awesome.”

Tilley, 37, even used the cleansing balm after getting home from the shoot, for which they all had their makeup done professionally, and said it worked like a charm.

“Everything came off, and it was gone,” she raved. “It was a miracle worker. And I was very, very, very impressed with the product.”

The Purity MadeSimple One-Step Meltaway Cleansing Balm not only offers a fresh post-wash feeling, but also deeply cleanses without stripping the skin, and is powered by meadowfoam seed oil, vitamin E and glycerin.

Bristowe echoed Tilley’s sentiment and shared her excitement over how well the product works, adding, “The proof is in the pudding.”
