Dollywood’s 2023 season might be its biggest ever, with a new roller coaster, festival and resort coming this year.
With 21 additional days, it’ll be the longest season yet.
Here’s a look at how some of Dollywood‘s newest attractions are coming along.
Big Bear Mountain roller coaster, the longest ride in Dollywood history, is set to open this spring. At $25 million, it’s also the largest single-attraction investment in Dollywood history.
The bright orange rails of the coaster twist and turn along the backside of Wildwood Grove, a $37 million expansion built in 2019.
Dollywood celebrates 50 years of ‘I Will Always Love You’ with star-studded concert series
“This park’s always been about families and bringing families closer together,” Owens said. “By creating ride experiences that involve the whole family, that really is part of what we do, and that follows through with the mission of the park and what Dolly wants us to do.”
Progress on the 302-room HeartSong Lodge and Resort is moving along, and the resort is set to open this fall.
It’s inspired by Dolly Parton’s love for the Great Smoky Mountains, and half of the rooms have balconies with a view of the mountains.
Other amenities include:
Dollywood’s spring season will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Parton writing one of her biggest hits, “I Will Always Love You.”
The celebration kicks off March 11 and runs through April 8, and guests can expect concerts from artists like Natalie Grant, Jo Dee Messina and Lauren Alaina.
Dollywood will also bring back the Flower and Food Festival (April 21- June 11) and the Sweet Summer Nights drone and fireworks festival (June 17- August 6).
Guests can expect a new menu this spring:
