Rev. Roosevelt Watkins, a priest of Chicago’s Bethlehem Star Missionary Baptist Church and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha, told a Chicago City Hall Examiner
“Black business owners, residents, were entrance outward of their homes, opening their windows, business were stepping outward of their shops,” Lamar Brown, a law tyro who participated in a march, told The Huffington Post. “They were applauding us, yelling ‘Good job,’ clapping. Even people in cars were interlude their cars, giving us thumbs up. we consider a bid itself was unequivocally embraced by a community.” Â
