Kodak Black donates $20K for Christmas toy drive for children in his Florida hometown … amid his ongoing prison sentence
Kodak Black donated $20,000 toward a toy drive to disperse to kids in his native Broward County, Florida.
Bradford Cohen, the lawyer for the Pompano Beach, Florida native, told TMZ that the 23-year-old rapper advised on which toys to purchase, and how to present them to the young recipients.
The rapper, who remains in custody in a federal detention center in Miami, dispersed sets of gift cards valued from $50 to $100 to more than 100 kids from 60 families and local foster homes, who picked up the presents at Cohen’s Fort Lauderdale office, the lawyer said.

The Tunnel Vision artist, whose legal name is Bill Kapri, also paid for a pizza party for the kids.
The If I’m Lyin, I’m Flyin performer, who is expected to be released in August of 2022, also showed his philanthropic side this past Thanksgiving in spending $15,000 to pay for 1,000 frozen turkeys to donate.

On his Instagram page Tuesday, the rapper said of the toy drive: ‘Thank You To Everyone Who Helped Put This Together. Only The Beginning.. #SG #LegacyIntact.’
Among those who he worked with on the drive included Florida-based community activist Francky Pierre-Paul, who shared multiple shots of the event.

‘We all remember what it feels like to get a gift,’ Pierre-Paul, who founded the nonprofit A Different Shade of Love, said on Instagram. ‘Some kids this season won’t have an opportunity to unwrap one this year but we made sure we put smiles and gave hope to a few families and kids today.’
Kodak remains in custody at USP Thomson in Illinois after he received a three-plus year sentence in federal prison in 2019 in connection with weapons charges he entered a guilty plea to. (A separate guilty plea to a gun charge out of New York tacked another year onto the sentence.)

Kodak told the court he twice lied on federal forms in order to purchase four weapons, including a semi-automatic weapon and multiple handguns.
He made headlines last month after he vowed – in a tweet he subsequently deleted – that he would make a $1 million donation to charity if he was pardoned by President Donald Trump.
‘If The President Them Free Me, I’m Gonna Spend 1 million on Charity within The First Year I’m Out. That’s on Everything,’ the rapper tweeted.
