Scooter Braun Uses Justin Bieber’s Instagram Account to Expose Black Voter Suppression

Following reports that some voters in Georgia were left standing in line for hours to vote during the Tuesday, June 9 election, Justin gave permission to his team to use his platform to expose live voter suppression.

Justin Bieber and manager Scooter Braun have been doing their most for black community amid the Black Lives Matter movement. Following reports that some voters in Georgia were left standing in line for hours as polling stations experienced numerous problems during the Tuesday, June 9 election, Justin gave permission to his team to use his platform to expose live voter suppression.

“Justin does not have reception where he is so he has asked us to post this tonight so his platform can be used to expose live voter suppression in Georgia tonight,” Justin’s team announced on the Canadian singer’s Twitter account.

Later in the Instagram Live broadcast, Scooter explained that the “Despacito” hitmaker wasn’t available for a livestream. “He is on his bus traveling across the country with his wife and right now they don’t have reception so he said, ‘You log onto my account and go Live with LoTasha [Brown]. Give her my platform.’ ”

During the Live session, LaTosha and another man revealed that polls were supposed to close at 7:00 P.M. However, it was already 11:40 P.M. when they had the conversation and yet, people still stood in line to vote. Officials claimed that the delay was due to technical problems including machines that didn’t work all over the state.

People, however, thought the whole thing was shady and wasn’t coincidental at all. Taking to social media, they accused officials of voter suppression as they shared their own experiences in real-time. They alleged that the officials wanted to make sure that black people weren’t able to cast their congressional vote in the middle of civil unrest.

This arrives after Justin declared on Instagram that “I am committed to using my platform from this day forward to learn, to speak up about racial injustice and systemic oppression, and to identify ways to be a part of much needed change.”

Many, including fellow musicians, supported Justin on this with Ernie Halter saying, “Amen to this. I owe so much to the black artists that influenced me and taught me nearly everything. #blacklivesmatter.” A fan added, “My man, what are you doing now is stand on the right path that use your power to influence people.”
