Katy Perry took to social media on Friday evening to reveal the gender of her first child with actor fiance Orlando Bloom.
‘It’s a girl,’ captioned the 35-year-old singer, who shared a photograph of Bloom with his face covered in pink toned whipped cream.
In early March, Perry used her art to confirm her pregnancy when she cradled her growing baby bump at the end of her music video for her latest single Never Worn White.

During her performance at the Women’s Cricket World Cup Final in Melbourne, Australia on March 8, Perry admitted that she was hoping to have a girl.
The Teenage Dream songstress, who got engaged to Bloom last Valentine’s Day, is expected to give birth to their impending daughter in the summer.

This will be Perry’s first child, but Orlando’s second, being that he shares nine-year-old son Flynn with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
Katy recently spoke on her presumed parenting style during the most recent episode of the hit ABC singing competition series American Idol.

Perry, who judges alongside fellow music veterans Luke Bryan, 43, and Lionel Richie, 70, labeled herself as the ‘toughest b*tch.’
‘I’m going to be a good mom. My kids are always going to get it straight,’ said Katy.
In an interview with SiriusXM’s Mikey Piff in early March, Perry admitted that her pregnancy was ‘not an accident’ and that she had been trying to create this space in my own life where I’m not running myself too ragged.’
With American Idol currently in limbo due to production postponements caused by the coronavirus pandemic, Perry will not have to worry about running herself ragged.

Like her pregnancy, Katy announced her engagement to Bloom via social media by sharing a photo of her flower shaped engagement ring.
She paired the snapshot with the perfectly penned caption: ‘full bloom.’
The Lord Of The Rings star popped the big question during a helicopter ride that Katy later described as a ‘very James Bond’ move.
‘We landed on a rooftop [in Los Angeles] and my whole family was there, and all my friends. He did so well,’ the singer confessed
The pair met in 2016 during The Weinstein Company’s star-studded Golden Globes afterparty, where they photographed flirting up a storm.
