Billie Eilish is the youngest artist in history to record a James Bond song as she will be performing the theme for No Time To Die. 

The 18-year-old pop megastar was confirmed to be working on the track as the James Bond Twitter account made the announcement on Tuesday morning.

The 007 Twitter posted: ‘The #NoTimeToDie title song will be performed by @billieeilish.

‘Billie has written the song with her brother @finneas and is the youngest artist in history to write and record a James Bond theme song.’

Her older brother Finneas  O’Connell – AKA FINNEAS – collaborated on the project with her as they have worked together her entire career and he produced her critically acclaimed album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? released last year.

Billie is excited about the project as she said in a press release: ‘It feels crazy to be a part of this in every way.

‘To be able to score the theme song to a film that is part of such a legendary series is a huge honor. James Bond is the coolest film franchise ever to exist. I’m still in shock.’ 

Her 22-year-old brother added: ‘Writing the theme song for a Bond film is something we’ve been dreaming about doing our entire lives. 

‘There is no more iconic pairing of music and cinema than the likes of Goldfinger and Live And Let Die. We feel so so lucky to play a small role in such a legendary franchise, long live 007.’

 The Bad Guy hitmaker teased that she would be working on the new 007 song as she posted several photos of Bond Girls over the years including Halle Berry and Lea Seydoux on her Instagram Story just hours earlier.

Billie joins an impressive list of artists who have worked on the James Bond themes including Adele with 2012’s Skyfall and more recently Sam Smith for track Writing’s On The Wall which was featured in 2015 film Spectre.

Adele’s theme earned her the Academy Award for Best Original song. 

Hans Zimmer – known for his work on The Lion King and Inception – has also been confirmed as the new composer for the score.

With six chances at Grammys gold, Eilish is one of the top-nominated artists at this year’s awards gala, set for January 26.

The Californian is the youngest person ever to snag nominations in all the top four categories, including the prestigious Album of the Year prize.

Eilish released her album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? last year to critical and commercial acclaim, after winning a fervent online following for her bold, often haunting pop sound featuring heavy bass and tinges of trap and electronic dance music.
