Elgato HD60s

The HD60s from Elgato is my capture device, and I can’t recommend it enough. Whatever device you are streaming from it will give you perfect 1080p at 60 frames per second (FPS). It’s small too, not much bigger than a battery pack for a phone, which makes traveling with it easy, as well as keeping it concealed when on stream.

PC free:

AVerMedia Live Gamer Portable 2 Plus

Portability is the name of the game with this device from AVerMedia. While it doesn’t record in 4K, it does allow for 4K passthrough so you can still play at full resolution. The most helpful addition is the Micro SD card that will enable you to record without a PC, the transfer later.

Low latency 4K:

Elgato Game Capture 4K60 Pro MK.2

When it comes to recording full 4K videos, you can’t get much better than the 4K60 mk2. You will need a full gaming PC to fit the card in, but both the software and the card will work together to give you a fantastic experience. You can even capture gameplay that happened before you started streaming with the flashback function.

DIGITNOW! HD Game Capture

Maybe you are a retro gamer, or want to record your VHS tapes onto digital? If so, the DIGITNOW! HD capture is perfect. It has inputs for HDMI, YPbPr, and CVBS so that you can attach your Nintendo 64 or PlayStation 2 and stream in 1080p at 30 FPS. It’s a lot of fun to play classic consoles on Twitch.
