While the specific amounts aren’t clear, Burgues claims Carey didn’t properly account for the hours she worked and owe her unspecified wages on the $25-an-hour salary she was earning while watching Carey’s kids, eight year old twins Moroccan and Monroe.
Mariah’s rep has since released a statement to the publication saying: ‘This is a legally and factually baseless claim that will be defended with vigor.’

Burgues alleges in the lawsuit that Carey would not allow her to take breaks, as required by California law, including meals and rest breaks.
She does not specify the hours she was required to work for the songstress, but the lawsuit implies that she worked, ‘around the clock’ for her.

She also claims that he tried to kick her out of the car during a drive to Las Vegas, and then when she finally complained about her treatment, she was fired.Â
