Yukon doctors see untapped intensity in ‘virtual care’

Yukon doctors are training about ways to incorporate some-more “virtual care” into their practices this weekend — essentially, operative with patients other than face-to-face.

It could be a elementary phone call, or remote video imaging, or listening to a stethoscope over a Internet.

“It’s going to be an event for all a physicians conflicting a Yukon to get together and speak about a intensity we see for this, for a patients here,” pronounced Dr. Katharine Smart, incoming boss of a Yukon Medical Association (YMA) that is hosting a “virtual caring summit” in Whitehorse.  

“I consider what we see is a genuine event to yield caring to people in non-traditional settings, such as their home. Especially in a place like a Yukon where there can be large transport distances to come and see a physician.”

According to a Canadian Medical Association (CMA), Canada was an early pioneer in practical caring in a 1970s, yet has given depressed behind many other countries.
