Aquaman took a break from saving the seven seas last weekend to scarf down a plate of hash browns and gravy at one of Iowa’s favorite breakfast spots.

Well, the actor who played Aquaman did, that is.

“Aquaman” star Jason Momoa surprised family and friends earlier this month with a visit to the Hawkeye state that included stops at southside staple Kung Fu Tap Taco and beloved local diner The Waveland Cafe.

Momoa, who was raised in the town of Norwalk, documented the visit in an endearing 10-minute YouTube video, titled “Visited my home state of Iowa!”

“This is where I was raised, these cornfields,” Momoa said. “This is America. This is part of America. It feels like home to me. Well, it is home.”

The video takes viewers inside a visit with Momoa’s grandmother and shows pithy banter between the “Game of Thrones” star and his mother, Coni (complete with Momoa bravely accusing his mom of bad driving).

And it wouldn’t be a Momoa visit without stopping at B-Bops, one of his Iowa favorites. He posed for photos with the burger joint staff while jesting “now they all know” as one employee outed him as Aquaman.

Watch the video below.

The YouTube video comes hours after DC hit “Aquaman” broke $1 billion at the global box office, making it the highest-grossing DC Comics film ever, passing Christopher Nolan’s 2012 hit “The Dark Knight Rises.” While not confirmed, the box office dominance could lead to Momoa reprising his role as Arthur Curry for an “Aquaman” sequel.

As for Iowa’s influence on the Hawaii-born actor, Momoa told the Des Moines Register in December: “I loved where and how I grew up because both places were rooted in family. They are really very similar, except there’s more ocean one spot and more corn in the other.”
