Marvel hasn’t announced intentions to make a Secret Wars movie, but if the studio were to go that route, Avengers 4 directors Joe and Anthony Russo would be happy to direct.
Their comments came during a recent Avengers: Infinity War screening, in which they also confirmed they’re taking a break from superhero movies. That is, unless a Secret Wars movie is greenlit, which it very well might be now that Disney is set to acquire 21st Century Fox, which owns the film rights to X-Men and Fantastic Four.
Joe Russo says they’re done with superhero movies until Disney is ready to make Secret Wars.

Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars, or Secret Wars for short, is a popular limited series first published between 1984 and 1985. The series saw a cosmic entity teleport heroes comprised of Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men to a distant alien planet for the purpose of battling against several villains.
Additionally, the series famously introduced the symbiote that bonds with Spider-Man and later bonds with Eddie Brock.
The Russo brothers have tackled Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers 4, making them an obvious choice for such a large event film. But even if it does happen, it’s unlikely to happen anytime soon.
Be that as it may, perhaps we’ll get some clues for a Secret Wars movie when Avengers 4 hits theaters in May 3, 2019.
