New Royal Canadian Mint collectable silver is out of this world

The Royal Canadian Mint’s latest collectible silver is flattering distant out.

Vancouver-based artist and investigate scientist Alexandra Lefort designed a silver after a life time of interstellar mindfulness — a mindfulness that led her to pattern a collectible with a chunk of meteorite iron embedded in any of a 5,500 coins minted.

“150 years of research, preparation and find by a Royal Astronomical Society of Canada is an enchanting story to share with Canadians,” pronounced Royal Canadian Mint boss Sandra Hanington in a statement. 

“It is usually wise that RASC’s many systematic achievements be famous on a vividly phony coin, that breaks barriers of a possess by featuring a shard of a genuine meteorite.”

Lefort also designed another commemorative silver for a packet in 2016 to honour Canada’s initial lady astronaut, Roberta Bondar.

That coin combined vivid colour with a glow-in-the-dark outcome to depict a perspective of Canada from space.
