News Flash: Frosted Lips Are Cool AgainÂ
Ten years ago, if you told Us that in the year 2018 frosted pink lipstick would make a major comeback, we would have scoffed at you. Turns out, lipstick with a metallic sheen can actually be chic and sophisticated and we have Priyanka Chopra to thank for changing our minds.
The Quantico actress attended the Chanel dinner in Malibu on Saturday, June 2, in a beauty look that was soft, romantic, uber sophisticated — and yes, complete with a metallic magenta lipstick. Chopra’s look was crafted by celebrity makeup artist Sarah Tanno who subtly matched the tones of her teed Chanel outfit and her elegant jewels.

For example, the actress’ white knit cap-sleeved top had soft pink and magenta woven through. So, after perfecting Chopra’s complexion, Tanno created a soft pearly-pink lid that echoed the tones in her ensemble. The romantic eye was complemented by a slight pink flush (nothing too stark) but even more so by the frosted warm pink lipstick that she added to complete the look. Turns out, the shimmer in the unexpected lipstick tone adds further dynamism to the look to tie it all together — it gives a slight brightness to Chopra’s lips, but also mimics the subdued shimmer in her eye makeup.
Bonus: the metallic touch not only adds poutiness, but also a punchy twist to a classic and timeless outfit.
Clearly, the metallic lip has been redeemed once and for all and is the new cool-girl way to add a little je ne sais quoi to a classic look.
