Hissrich, who is also acting as showrunner for the production, has a pretty long history with Netflix productions and television in general. Her writing credits go back as far as The West Wing, but she’s put in time on superhero shows Power, Daredevil and The Defenders, too.
Netflix is staying tight-lipped on the show’s other details right now, such as who might play Geralt of Rivia or when exactly we can expect to see the show hit the streaming service. The show will be based on Sapkowski’s novels rather than on CD Projekt Red’s game series, and Sapkowski will act as a consultant on the show, so it seems like it’ll hew as closely to the original story as it possibly can.
Of all the shows in the pipe at Netflix, this is the one I’m looking most forward to. Keep an eye out for it to hit the service, most likely, sometime in 2019 or 2020.
