E. coli conflict related to romaine lettuce apparently over, Ottawa says

An conflict of E. coli infections related to romaine lettuce “appears to be over,” a Public Health Agency of Canada says. 

“The risk to Canadians has returned to low and a Public Health Agency of Canada is no longer advising people in influenced provinces to cruise immoderate other forms of lettuce, instead of romaine lettuce,” it pronounced in an update published on a website Wednesday evening. 

The conflict of E. coli O157 was announced in December after several reports of illness in Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Quebec. Cases were after reliable in Ontario as well. Investigators identified romaine lettuce as a source of a E. coli infections, though still have not dynamic a means of a contamination. The review continues. 

The open health group considers a conflict to be over, it said, since there have been no reports of illnesses starting after Dec. 12.
