GPS, not LTE, is the best option
A big debate that may come up when considering buying the Apple Watch Series 4 is whether to go for the standard GPS version, which is our selection, or the cellular model. Truth be told, the cellular model is just not there yet, which is why we couldn’t choose it as the best option.
Sure, untethering the Apple Watch from an iPhone sounds great, but it’s not as magical as it sounds. Most of the time, it’ll just reconnect back to the iPhone when you are near it, and when you use it as a standalone device with cellular connectivity, the battery life is laughable. It definitely won’t last more than a couple hours.
It’s just not worth the premium price tag, which is $100 more than the regular GPS model and needs an extra data plan you’ll need to access a cellular connection. All that makes the GPS model a much better option for most people.
