LAS VEGAS – In the wake of COVID-19, thermal cameras and a full time staff of emergency medical technicians are now part of the Venetian’s reopening plans.
“In light of the current COVID-19 situation and in anticipation of our eventual reopening, we have reviewed all areas of our business to minimize risk and enhance safety for team members and visitors,” Las Vegas Sands said in a statement.
Here’s a look at some of the cleaning and safety protocols guests can expect when the Venetian reopens on the Strip, though the exact date remains unclear:
The Venetian is not accepting reservations at this time. All reservations have been canceled through May 31. According to the resort’s website, existing reservations for June 1 and beyond are still in place at this time but guests can contact the resort directly
Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak’s current shutdown order expires on April 30, but some state across the U.S. have extended closures and stay-at-home orders into May.
As of Tuesday morning, 12 more people died of COVID-19 in Clark County and 76 more people tested positive, according to new numbers released by the Southern Nevada Health District.
That brings the totals there to 3,793 total positive cases and 186 who’ve died from coronavirus. So far, 2,414 people have recovered there from COVID-19 — about 64 percent of all Clark County cases.
