is being sold for the first time since the resort opened in 1869.
The 1,000-acre property in the Catskills was featured during three episodes of season two of the Amazon Prime hit television show “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” As reported first by The Hollywood Reporter, it has been sold to Geragos Global, a Los Angeles-based investor in business, real estate and recreation founded by famed criminal defense attorney Mark Geragos.
For “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” Scott’s Family Resort was transformed into the Steiner Mountain Resort, a fictional Jewish enclave that serves as an annual upstate getaway for the series’ characters and their social circles.

The show won the 2018 Emmy Award for Best Comedy.
To commemorate the one-year anniversary of the filming, Scott’s Oquaga Lake House in Deposit hosted the first Maisel Weekend, featuring a variety of Maisel-themed activities, including performances by female comedians and a local big band.
The resort’s new soon-to-be-owner Geragos gained widespread fame representing criminal defendants in high profile cases. The Los Angeles attorney’s list of clients have included rapper Chris Brown, actress Winona Ryder, music legend Michael Jackson and politician Gary Condit. He was also the defense attorney for Scott Peterson in the Modesto, California man’s 2004 double murder trial.
