At long last, it’s back. No, I’m not talking about Stranger Things (although the latest season is pretty awesome, let’s be real). I’m referring to the biggest sale event of the year for fashion and beauty lovers: the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
Every year, trendsetters absolutely lose it over this, since it’s basically a holiday unto itself, or as our very own Samantha Matt put it, fashion’s version of Black Friday. You can get deep discounts on virtually everything, including high-end brands like Free People, La Mer, Rebecca Minkoff, Tom Ford, Sam Edelman—you get the picture.

With major deals on luxe brands, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the kind of massive sale that you set alarms for ahead of time so you don’t miss anything. On the flip side, it’s also incredibly overwhelming if you’re not prepared. Eager to nab the best deals before someone else beats you to it? Here’s everything we know so far about this annual sale, so you can grab all your favorites right away.
When is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
The sale runs in two phases. Early access starts on Friday, July 12 at 12:30 p.m. EST, but only Nordstrom card members are eligible. Being a card member means you’ll get to shop the event a full week before the masses do, so you can stock up on the season’s biggest must-have fashion and beauty products first.
For everyone else, the sale begins on Friday, July 19 at 12:30 p.m. EST and lasts through Sunday, August 4. At the same time, Nordstrom is also running Glam-Up Days, so you can get hundreds of beauty samples, exclusives, and gifts with purchases.
On Saturday, July 20, Nordstrom is also holding a Beauty Bash event at all U.S. and Canada stores, where shoppers can get free makeovers, applications, and a limited edition tote with makeup purchases of $125 or more.
How to shop early
If you want to take advantage of the deals, become a card member. It’s free to apply for the Nordstrom credit card, and you can earn points faster than if you were just a Nordy Club member. The credit card comes with some rad perks beyond early access to the Anniversary sale, too. You can get “First to Shop” access when the Clear the Rack events happen at Nordstrom Rack, and you get $100 in alterations benefits. As an added bonus, if you apply for the card by the end of today (Wednesday, July 10) and get approved, you get a $60 bonus note.

Already a card member? Congrats, all that hard work you’ve done shopping is truly about to pay off. Nordy Club Icons and Ambassadors can actually start shopping online Thursday, July 11, so you have a full extra day to get the jump on all the best deals, even compared to other cardholders. But if you haven’t already achieved this status, you probably won’t be able to get it by tomorrow, so best to just aim for the regular Early Access sale.
What can you buy during the sale
Never shopped this event before? The best way to shop the 2019 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is to check out the catalogue, which features the most stunning selections that you can expect to see drop in price. While we’ll have a roundup of all our sale favorites in the next few days, I’d say some personal stand-outs are this Madewell Kent cardigan ($64.90, save $33.10), these Alo High Waist Moto Leggings ($76, save $38), and the only brow makeup you’ll ever really need from Anastasia Beverly Hills. Seriously though, with so many amazing options to choose from, it’s hard to pick which are the best (and maybe you should just treat yourself).
