YouTube Kids lets relatives overrule algorithm that served unfortunate videos

YouTube is overhauling a kid-focused video app to give relatives a choice of vouchsafing humans, not mechanism algorithms, name what shows their children can watch.

The updates that start rolling out Thursday are a response to complaints that a YouTube Kids app has regularly failed to filter out unfortunate content.

Google-owned YouTube launched a toddler-oriented app in 2015.
