For a while now, signs have pointed toward The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild missing the Nintendo Switch’s March launch, despite it being in both the system and the game’s best interests to match up.  Now, though, one reliable Nintendo watcher says that’s not the case.
We’ve previously seen both rumors pointing to a delay and Nintendo waffling on a release window for the game. Laura Kate Dale, however, says otherwise:
Contrary to my past report on BOTW release date it is 100% coming at Switch launch in North America in March. Have seen finalised materials.

While Dale has, as she notes, previously reported to the contrary, she’s working with information provided by industry insiders that she feels has been properly vetted so as to be reliable. Past information has primarily been rumors and hearsay, but this latest information is encouraging – watchers like Dale are usually careful to call things rumor, but here she’s saying “100%.â€
While word from an industry watcher isn’t official, this is the first encouraging word we’ve had in months for the upcoming Zelda game, and something for fans to hang onto. Dale had previously confirmed the unveiling of the Switch before it happened, as well as many details about the system we now call the Nintendo Switch, back when it was the NX.
Nintendo has an event planned for January 12, at which point much of this information will be confirmed. We’re expecting official specs, a price point for the system, and a list of expected launch games.
