Teddi Mellencamp Shows Off Wig Options and Hair Regrowth Amid Cancer Battle
Teddi Mellencamp’s hair is growing out.
Mellencamp, 45, took to her Instagram Story on Thursday, August 6, to share a number of wigs that she was considering wearing while growing out her mane amid her cancer battle. The first featured honey blonde hair, which was parted to the side, cut a few inches past the shoulders and styled in bouncy curls. Mellencamp then panned the camera to a blonde wig with a root smudge that was cut in a blunt bob.
She also shared a brunette wavy bob, and an ashy look. “Decisions. @LisaBarlow14,” she captioned the post.
In the next clip, Mellencamp wore the first wig underneath a Los Angeles Dodgers baseball cap. “Went with Old Faithful,” she said while twirling the hair. “Honestly, what would I have done without the Wig Fairy?” She then snatched off the wig and showed her hair growth, which was down to her ears.
Mellencamp has kept her followers updated with her hair growth journey through the years. In June, she got emotional while trying on new wigs from the Wig Fairy.
When the wig got fitted on her head, the Bravo personality gushed, “Oh, this is already so much more comfortable. Oh my gosh! This looks so much better. It actually looks like it’s coming out of my head!”
She beamed while playing with the platinum blonde mane, “Oh my gosh. You have no idea! This is — I’m emotional. I like it so much more.” Mellencamp praised the locks for being a “game changer.”
Earlier that month, Mellencamp gave an update on her diagnosis, sharing that she was having “raging” anxiety between cancer scans.
“Ever since I was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer, I get immunotherapy monthly, and I was getting cat scans and MRIs monthly, but this month, this past time, they decided they’re going to wait three to four months in between the tests,” Mellencamp shared via Instagram. “This has created such a nervous, raging anxiety inside of me.”

She continued, “Like, normally I dread immunotherapy, but I’m [usually] kind of excited to have my test, because I just had one three weeks before. But now that it’s been three and a half months, I feel sick.” Mellencamp added, “I just want to be positive. I want to be like those people that just say they’re positive all the time, but I’m really scared.”
Mellencamp was diagnosed with Stage II cancer in 2022, which metastasized to her brain and lungs by 2025. In October of that year, she revealed that she had “no detectable cancer” on her scans, but was still continuing “immunotherapy for now.”
She clarified that she was “not considered in remission” during an episode of her “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast.
