Taylor Swift Recalls Having Painful Wardrobe Malfunctions on the ‘Eras Tour’
Taylor Swift suffered a few wardrobe malfunctions during the Eras Tour, but you would never have known.
Swift, 36, opened up about experiencing a number of fashion errors on the Era Tour during a trailer for episodes 3 and 4 of her End of an Era docuseries via Disney+’s official Instagram on Thursday, December 18. In the clip, she recalled a fashion faux pas that resulted in a painful accident, but of course, Swift never missed a beat.
“One time, I tripped over the hem of my dress, skimmed the palm of my hand off, [started hearing the music to ‘Ready For It’ playing and] wasn’t late,” she recalled in the trailer.
Elsewhere in the teaser, Swift showed off the gold version of her Roberto Cavalli catsuit. “I’ve never had an alternate outfit for the Reputation section,” she gushed of the look, which she debuted in Miami in October 2024. “Not once.”
A voice off camera also explained, “Those quick changes are like nothing you’ve ever seen before.”
While some of her wardrobe malfunctions were hidden from fans, Swift also had a number on stage.
In November 2023, while performing in Rio de Janeiro, the heel and sole of her Christian Louboutin heel broke off as she welcomed fans to the tour. If fans even blinked for a moment, they would have missed the malfunction because of how professionally Swift handled it.
She hilariously threw the broken heel into the crowd and continued the show while walking around on her tippy-toes as a real-life Barbie doll would.
The lucky fan who caught her heel later took to social media to share photos of the famous red sole.
In May 2024, she briefly paused her show to deal with a minor clothing mishap while playing in Stockholm.
“Just talk amongst yourselves,” she told the audience, per a viral TikTok video. She then walked to her piano bench and sat down while undoing the strap of her blue wrap dress, which revealed a sparkly gold bra underneath. A crew member quickly hopped on stage and helped her fix the dress while Swift laughed.
After wrapping up the Eras Tour, Swift opened up about wearing heels every night while singing and dancing during an August episode of Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast.
When Jason, 38, asked if Swift missed touring, she answered, “I miss it, but it’s like, it was perfect for what it was.”
She explained, “It was a lot of physical therapy. It was a lot of being in a state of perpetual physical discomfort.” The singer then compared the physical toll of touring to what Travis, 36, likely experiences while playing as a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs.

“I’m not getting hit by huge 300-pounders, but the heels for that long?!” she exclaimed while widening her eyes.
Travis then jumped into the convo and recalled the first time he saw her “recovery room” while traveling with her on tour. “When I first saw the recovery room in the hotel room after, with the toe spacers,” he said while laughing.
Swift then nodded along and shared that she “got an acupuncture mat.”
