Sydney Sweeney Says She Was ‘Never Confident’ Having ‘Boobs’ Growing Up

It was hardly a surprise when Sydney Sweeney decided to kick off 2026 by launching her lingerie brand, Syrn. But the inspo goes back further than just her recent years as a conversation-driving A-lister in projects like Euphoria and The Housemaid.

“I grew up with boobs. I was wearing a 32DD in sixth grade, and I never felt confident,” Sweeney, 28, exclusively tells Us Weekly. “I never had anything I felt good in, and I just wanted to hide. It wasn’t until [I played] Cassie in Euphoria that I started realizing it’s actually powerful to be confident; our bodies are incredible. We should embrace [them] and feel really good in our skin.”

Enjoying the sexy pieces her character wears on the HBO hit sparked something new for the star. But she soon ran into a problem many busty gals have: “I’d always be like, ‘Oh, this fit doesn’t work,’” she says. “‘I don’t have the support I want. The straps are digging into my shoulders or it’s kind of itchy and riding up.’ I started a whole Pinterest board of thousands of photos of inspiration, and I [thought], ‘I should actually do this.’ And we put it together.”

Cut to the brand’s January debut, when collections like “Seductress” and “Romantic” arrived featuring looks such as lace-covered bras in up to 44 sizes — with plenty more still to come. “That’s kind of why I wanted to build all these different worlds,” she explains, “So [fans] could honestly choose what they wanted to be [at] the start of the day or the end of the day.”

Below, Sweeney tells Us more about her passion project.

How can these pieces inspire someone’s confidence?

What’s cool about Syrn is there’s something for everybody. Even if you know who you are, you want to discover what you like. I have so many worlds you can jump into. You can mix and match, [and] feel all the different sides.

How do you hope people feel when they wear Syrn?

I hope they feel whatever they want to feel. I hope they feel confident, excited. If they want to be cozy, they feel cozy. If they want to be romantic, they feel like they’re living in their own daydream.

What’s your date night go-to?

This [black corset]. That’s why I made it, because I don’t like to get too dressed up; I’m more of a jeans girl. I could not find a top that made me feel hot without being too much. But this is perfect. You can tie it as tight as you want, so you can make ’em pop as much as you want! The shape is amazing.

It’s stunning!

I was inspired by this corset a designer made me. I thought the paneling made it super beautiful, and it [gives] your hips shape. I wanted to bring it into a commercial piece because I hadn’t seen anyone make commercial pieces of the types of corsets I wear on carpets. I made it so everybody can buy it. … Fashion, if you start to figure out where things are placed, it’s truly an optical illusion.

What are some other Syrn details you’re proud of?

There are usually little messages in my pieces. I love hearts. Even our logo, my two Ss, is a heart. And on the straps of [the bras], all the sliders have hearts. I like to personalize things as much as I can. … I play dress up now with my own [SYRN] stuff, and I wore this [white lace top] solo the other day. And I was like “Wait. I didn’t even think I could — This works!” I literally wore a top with jeans. This is hot!

Where do you see the brand in five years?
