Fans will remember Super Meat Boy Forever as the endless runner announced for smartphones a year or so back, but it has since gone back to the drawing board and reinvented itself for consoles. The game will retain a similar premise and become harder and harder as Meat Boy and Bandage Girl revisit stages and dive deeper into them.
To describe [the game] as an auto-runner would be a disservice. It’s like saying that Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a game about a swordsman. Meat Boy / Bandage Girl do always run, but there is so much more to the game than running. They can attack enemies, they can dash through the air, there are tons of levels, there are bosses, there are secrets, and there is a surprising amount of difficulty that doesn’t feel unfair. It’s everything you would expect a Super Meat Boy sequel to be.
Super Meat Boy Forever launches for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, iOS, and Android in 2018. Still no news on the original game’s port to the Nintendo Switch, but Team Meat now has its hands full with this exciting sequel.
