Rainbox Six Siege is a 5v5 team based shooter that pits two well armed teams against one another in online matches. Unlike many game that rely simply on one set of characters attacking the other, this game has one team defending a specific location, while the other tries to break in and take out the operators on the opposing team.

Unlike many other FPS games in the genre, Rainbox Six Siege puts an emphasis on more strategic, team-based gameplay. For the first minute of each match, both teams have a small objective. One team will try to fortify their location, setting traps and shoring up walls to make them harder to breach. Meanwhile, the other side sends out drones trying to figure out what their opponents are doing. In just about every way, this is a game that rewards and demands team work from players. It’s definitely a game that is best for friends or a group to play together.

The levels are large, but dense and deliver a destructible setting. You can break through walls entirely, or punch out holes to give yourself a better line of sight. There are also several different modes of play, each requiring a different skillset. There are over a dozen different maps and it takes time to learn the layout of every section. The in-game store also has hundreds of items you can use to personalize your character, from weapon skins to operator outfits. You can purchase them with the in-game currency called Renown which you recieve at the end of each match you play.

Overall, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege delivers an excellent FPS. With a variety of operators to play, levels to learn, and a team to work with to achieve your goals, you get everything that makes the genre great all in one excellent package.
