Shigeru Miyamoto, maker of Mario, talks about how he designs video games

If all the Nintendo news this week wasn’t enough to make you sick of hearing about the company, how about watching a short video dedicated to its most famous designer: Shigeru Miyamoto?

Miyamoto made Mario. He made Donkey Kong. Zelda. Pikmin. The list goes on. Vox had him sit down to talk about designing games, and the resulting video is great.

Most of us probably knew all that neat stuff about the first level of the original Super Mario Bros., right? It’s still cool seeing it drawn up that way.

Nintendo’s in a completely different spot to start 2017 than they were in 2016, aren’t they?
