I’ve never demanded that a developer makes a certain video game. Those calling for Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VII remakes seek something different from myself, demanding unreasonable resources be sunk into making a full-fledged game from the ground up.
What I have demanded, though, is that developers make sure that the games they do make are available for all their fans. This isn’t the 90s anymore, and fans know that these games exist beyond their reach. This was my stance on Dragon Quest VII for many years. It’s been my stance for SaGa: Scarlet Grace, and recently, my focus has shifted to the recently confirmed Seiken Densetsu Collection, announced by Square Enix for the Nintendo Switch.
The problem lies with Seiken Densetsu 3, which has never been localized at all into English. Fans would really like a chance to legitimately buy the game and play it through the Nintendo Switch’s unique multiplayer capabilities, but that decision ultimately comes down to Square Enix. The company hasn’t signaled that it is willing to localize the game just yet, but fans pressed the emulation team behind it, the geniuses at M2, for answers, and one developer who works there pretty much passed the buck to Square Enix.
@enigmaxtreme …one, but we haven’t looked into it. If you really want an Eng ver, I think the best chance would be to show Square Enix your enthusiasm.

Fans translations are a fine option, but there really is nothing like legitimately buying a classic and playing it on the console you’ve invested in. They are meant to be a patch to hold over until the situation can be completely wrapped up, and in Seiken Densetsu 3’s case, the situation hasn’t been wrapped up after being available for 22 years.
