Did you know that, technically, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds hasn’t even seen official release yet? Despite having sold 10 million copies, Battlegrounds is still in Early Access. Even so, an Xbox One release is on the way this year, and you’ll be able to pick it up in stores. The official Twitter account for the game confirmed that we’ll have a release date for the game soon, and that it will see physical release.
“PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds‘ Xbox One version will have a physical release,†said the original tweet.
The account followed up the the next day, saying that “huge news is coming soon for PUBG, including a closer look at the release date for Xbox One, physical release, new updates, and more!â€
A further clarification later, though, added that the physical release may not happen day-and-date with the game’s debut on Xbox, meaning it could follow the online release by weeks or even months. With the holiday season quickly approaching, it would be surprising to see that release delayed very long. Even among huge releases like Call of Duty: WWII and Assassin’s Creed: Origins, Battlegrounds is virtually guaranteed to be a hot title on the console this fall.
