Pixel 2 vs. Pixel 2 XL: So many similarities with one major difference

Google is taking a different approach with its new Pixel phones this year. Yes, they look similar when viewed from the back, but you’ll see major differences in screen size and, more importantly, bezels. If that’s important to you, the Pixel 2 XL is the device for you.

But if an edge-to-edge display isn’t of interest, Google’s new phones are essentially identical, save for battery size. Each phone comes with a revamped camera, 4GB of RAM, Snapdragon 835 processor, and storage options. Google did the same thing last year, offering the same specs inside of different bodies.

Which is good for consumers, because it means the smaller version isn’t stuffed with leftover technology. You’ll get the same great pictures from the Pixel 2 as you would with the Pixel 2 XL, along with the same software experience. That’s the way it should be.

So, when you think about it, these devices aren’t all that different from each other. Again, if you prefer a larger display with smaller bezels, then the Pixel 2 XL is the one you should consider. But don’t forget about the Pixel 2, which also offers an active frame, front-facing speakers, and more.

See just how similar they are in the chart down below.
