Only 90s kids will remember these Video Game Hall of Fame nominees

Among the nominees are, in alphabetical order, Donkey Kong, Final Fantasy VII, Halo: Combat Evolved, Windows Solitaire, Mortal Kombat, Myst, Pokemon Red and Green, Portal, Resident Evil, Street Fighter II, Tomb Raider, and Wii Sports.

Previous inductees have included universally beloved games like The Legend of Zelda and Tetris along with groundbreaking titles like The Oregon Trail  and Pong.

Games are chosen by the impact they have on gaming, including games that achieve iconic status, games that cross borders to achieve international success, games that make a mark on design and development, and longevity.

The inductees are chosen by the Strong Museum with guidance from an international advisory committee comprising journalists and scholars. Those chosen by the committee will be announced on May 4 for us to argue over indefinitely.
