OnePlus 6: Here’s what we know

Don’t look now, but your OnePlus 5T is about to become obsolete. OnePlus has been in a sharing mood lately, giving us a glimpse at its next flagship’s notch and some key specs. The hype train is currently in overdrive, and it sure sounds a release is imminent. So, what can we expect from the OnePlus 6? Here are all the rumors, reveals, and reports we’ve heard so far.

The design evolves. OnePlus has already revealed a teaser image of the OnePlus 6, but it’s not much to go on. Luckily, we have the Oppo R15, which is likely a blueprint for what the upcoming device will look like.

As is the norm for high end Android flagships, the OnePlus 6 will feature a bezel-less design, dual-camera setup, rear-facing fingerprint sensor, and what we suspect will be an all-glass design. Hopefully, that means OnePlus will adopt wireless charging, which is all but standard across the industry by now.

Yes, there will be a notch. Speaking of the design, OnePlus has already confirmed its newest flagship will feature a display notch. Since the iPhone X’s release, the trend has swept the mobile market, whether consumers like it or not. If the notch isn’t your thing, OnePlus will (eventually) introduce software that will let owners hide it. But it begs the question: Why include it in the first place?

Cutting edge specs. We saw this coming from a mile away, but the OnePlus 6 will feature some of the latest specs, such as a Snapdragon 845 processor. Other confirmed specs include up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, which is more than enough to hold your movies, music, and pictures. We still don’t know what to expect from the camera and it’s unclear how large the battery will be. But we do know it’ll provide healthy competition to the Galaxy S9—at least in terms of raw power.
