The first high-end Android device from Nokia has been leaked by the company’s very own website. The upcoming Nokia 8, built by HMD Global, briefly appeared online on Thursday, all but confirming an imminent launch.
Long-time Nokia fans have been desperately waiting for the company’s first flagship device. Recent rumors tell us that will be the Nokia 8, which is expected to offer Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM, and dual rear-facing cameras with Carl Zeiss lenses. We’ve already seen glimpses of the device, and today we got another one.
The Nokia 8 briefly appeared on Nokia’s own website for China and was spotted by Pocketnow before being pulled. Although the leak didn’t offer any details, it did confirm the Nokia 8 name — which was previously thought to be Nokia 9. It also indicates that Nokia and HMD are very close to making the handset official.
There are no images of the back of the device, so we don’t have confirmation of its dual cameras just yet. But they were spotted in recent press renders, which match the image on Nokia’s website perfectly. We’ll be keeping an eye out for an official announcement, which could come sometime later today.
