Nissan Altima recalled, doors may open while driving

According to AP, which got wind of the recall this morning, Nissan discovered an issue in the aforementioned model year cars that makes it possible for doors to open if a passenger decides to open a rear window. Yeah, picture this: you’re cruising down to the beach on a hot afternoon when your buddy decides to drop the back window. Boom, doors open. What the heck?d

“Nissan says in government documents that the latch and lock cable in the doors may not have been routed properly at the factory,” the Associated Press explained. “In certain situations, the window assembly can interfere with the cable and inadvertently open the doors.”
