New iPhone models expected to sell incredibly well

Apple is setting high expectations for its iPhone models launching later this year, according to The Bell.

Between the three models expected, the Cupertino-based company reportedly believes it’ll ship nearly 100 million units.

The largest model, often referred to as the iPhone X Plus, might see as many as 45 million units shipped. It’ll have a 6.5-inch OLED screen, but the edge-to-edge display will keep its overall size down. So the larger-than-usual screen shouldn’t be a problem for Apple. The Plus-branded models have been popular in the past anyway.

As for the 5.8-inch model replacing the current iPhone X, Apple thinks it can ship 25 million units. Then there’s the 6.1-inch model with an LCD screen, which the report puts at 30 million units shipped globally.

It’s somewhat puzzling, though, because just last week we heard the LCD-toting model would be the top seller. Apple is using an inferior display technology to keep the price down.

There could also be a much smaller iPhone debuting alongside the trio. Apple’s been rumored to be working on the iPhone SE 2, but we still haven’t seen anything official. The iPhone SE 2 could turn out to be a surprise during the hardware-focused event in the fall.

As usual, we’ll have to wait to get a better idea of what’s in the pipeline. It’s pretty much guaranteed that three new iPhone models will be launched, so the specifications and pricing remain the big unknowns.
