Moto X4 now one step closer to its release

The long-rumored Moto X4 has been spotted on the Federal Communication Commission’s online database—and guess what? The accompanying documentation casts a light on the device’s internals, confirming everything we’ve been expecting.

Under the hood, the Moto X4 sports a 5.2-inch Full HD display, a Snapdragon 830 octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable internal storage, a 12MP dual-camera (Monochrome+RGB), a 16MP wide-angle selfie shooter and a 3,000mAh battery.

The design of the handset is reminiscent of the Moto X2 Force; there’s a fingerprint reader on the front and a circular camera cutout on the rear. Noticeably missing, however, is a set of Moto Mods connectors—but it’s not difficult to see why.

Motorola is aiming the Moto X4, which could cost as little as $400 in the United States, at budget-conscious consumers. If it bundled Moto Mods on the unit, customers would have no reason to pick up its flagship smartphone, the Moto Z2 Force.
