Lamborghini is known for designing some of the most ostentatious sports cars in the world. Its cars usually sport eye-catching pastel colors, futuristics designs and outrageous price tags. It is now bringing those same elements to its first Android smartphone—the Alpha-One.
The Alpha-One is exactly what you’d imagine a Lamborghini-designed smartphone would look like—gaudy, loud and dazzling. Its basic form is that of a regular smartphone with a display on the front and a camera and fingerprint scanner on the back. But everything else about it is irregular.
Outlining its sides is a vibrant gold trim that also decorates the cut-out of the camera. The back of the phone is made of “Italian handmade black leather†with a gold stitching running down the center. The Alpha-One’s fingerprint reader doesn’t seamlessly integrate into the overall design, instead, it stands out like a sore thumb with a mustard yellow color that looks quite odd on the phone.
Topping it all off is a tacky cursive L adorning the bottom front of the device.
You have to hand it to Lamborghini, the Alpha-One’s specs aren’t too shabby. It boasts a 5.5-inch WQHD display, Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage with expandability, 20MP main camera, 8MP front-facing camera and a 3,250mAh battery. Aside from the dated processor, all the other specs are in line with other Android flagships.
So how much will the Lamborghini Alpha-One set you back? A staggering $2,450. But let’s be honest, if the people who buy Lamborghinis buy an Alpha-One, it won’t really make a dent in their bank account.
