We won’t be seeing any more couple pictures of Katie Holmes and Emilio Vitolo Jr., but their whirlwind romance certainly gave Us a handful of iconic style moments!
While Us Weekly exclusively confirmed the end of their relationship on Thursday, May 13, the couple, who were first linked in September 2020, definitely served up some stellar style during their time together.
Given the COVID-19 pandemic, red carpet appearances and fancy nights out weren’t too frequent. Instead, the 42-year-old Dawson’s Creek alum and the 33-year-old chef were mostly spotted in sweats or jeans while running errands and going for walks around New York City.
Nonetheless, the duo managed to look chic while out and about! It quickly became clear that the couple had an affinity for stylish outerwear, rocking peacoats on numerous occasions.
During an outing on September 22, 2020 for example, Holmes proved laidback attire can still look fashion-forward, wearing a navy coat and straight leg jeans. Vitolo stuck with neutral tones too, wearing a black overcoat and skinny jeans.
In October 2020, the former lovebirds stepped out for a walk around the block in matching white t-shirts. Holmes, who was previously married to Tom Cruise, paired her top with plaid trousers while Vitolo sported light-wash jeans.
The dead of winter was when Holmes and Vitolo really upped their style game though. In January 2021 the pair made a statement with colorful coats! Holmes stunned in a mustard yellow ankle-length wool coat. Her former flame made bold fashion choice as well, opting for a red and black plaid number.
In May 2021, Us Weekly exclusively confirmed that the couple had officially split. A spokesperson for the actress said that “the pair have parted ways amicably but remain friends.”
The source added: “Katie and Emilio really enjoyed their time together — it just simply didn’t work out … She’s focusing on being a mom and her upcoming projects.”
