Kate Gosselin Reacts to Marriage Rumors After Fans Notice Ring on Left Hand
Kate Gosselin is addressing rumors that she took the plunge with her boyfriend and former bodyguard, Steve Neild.
The former reality star, 50, reacted to speculation that she tied the knot after posting a new TikTok video on Wednesday, January 7, rocking some sparkling bling on her left ring finger.
“Ma’am that ring is gorgeous!! 👀👀,” one commenter wrote. “I noticed that too. 😉,” another chimed in, while a third echoed, “Wedding ring perhaps!???”
A fourth social media user directly asked Gosselin if she and Neild secretly walked down the aisle, writing, “Whooaaaa. Did you get married? I am so happy that you are happy. And how have you kept the weight off over your recovery?”

The Jon Kate Plus 8 alum cleared the air with her response, writing, “No lol that’s just my regular jewelry.”
“Go shopping on Waiheke Island with us!,” she captioned her TikTok clip from their outing together in New Zealand. Neild could be heard behind the camera, fueling the theories that the couple had potentially taken a big step in their relationship.
In the video, Gosselin said that Neild sweetly “treated me to a few items” before they headed to the beach.
“But he also got a T-shirt and a pair of shorts,” she highlighted. “It’s really rare that he buys himself any clothing, so I’m really happy and proud of him.”
While addressing the marriage rumors, Gosselin also shared an update about how she is doing. The TLC alum was hospitalized last fall with a tibial plateau fracture due to her dog Meika colliding into her leg at “full speed” during a game of fetch.
“I gained 15 pounds but hope now that I’m moving around it’ll go 😩,” she shared of her progress. Kate was given the go-ahead to start walking again in December 2025.
Gosselin previously explained what happened leading up to the freak accident in September 2025.
“Yesterday was a normal day… [Steve and I] decided to take the dogs for a walk,” she began. “So we went to a little area where you can play in our neighborhood and we’re playing ball.”
Things went haywire when Neild threw the ball and Meika came running for it, Gosselin said, adding, “She was running at the absolute speed of light and I stepped the wrong way.”

Kate went Instagram official with Steve — who was a bodyguard for the Gosselin family from 2008 to 2014 — in November 2025. That month also marked the wedding of her ex-husband, Jon Gosselin, and his new wife, Stephanie Lebo. (Kate and Jon share eight kids: twins Mady and Cara, both 25, and 21-year-old sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah, and Joel.)
In September 2025, Jon and Collin fueled speculation that Kate cheated on Jon years ago with her now-boyfriend. “Guess who really ruined the marriage,” Jon wrote at the time.
However, Kate addressed the rumors back in 2009 and vehemently denied the claims she was unfaithful. The exes were married from 1999 to 2009.
