The inauguration committee for President-elect Joe Biden will roll out augmented reality lenses on Snapchat on Wednesday to help users celebrate the transition of power from afar.

Using Snapchat’s Selfie mode, one lens lets users capture a picture of themselves in front of the U.S. Capitol wearing celebratory inaugural gear surrounded by confetti.

In the app’s world view, users can see their face in the inauguration audience as an audio greeting plays from Biden.

“This year’s inauguration has allowed us to create new, innovative, and creative tools for Americans across the country to participate in inaugural traditions and ceremonies while staying home to keep everyone safe,” said Christian Tom, digital director of the presidential inauguration committee, in a statement. “We are excited for President-elect Biden to share his message around unifying the country with folks on Snapchat and invite them to be a part of this historic inaugural.”

Both lenses will be available on Snapchat on Inauguration Day.

The committee cites “public health and safety concerns” as reason for introducing the lenses. Cases of COVID-19 continue to spike across the country. Meanwhile, security around the U.S. Capitol has tightened following an attack Jan. 6.

The Snapchat push is among several digital efforts made by Biden’s team to reach a younger audience. The president-elect’s campaign created a “Build Back Better” map for the video game Fortnite, and launched online merchandise for the Nintendo Switch hit Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
