iPhone 8 vs. iPhone 7: Apple made some key changes

Forgotten in the shuffle of the big iPhone X announcement is the new iPhone 8, which is the follow up to the iPhone 7 from last year, adding some sweet new upgrades.

Among the major additions the iPhone 8 receives is the glass back, wireless charging and the new A11 Bionic chip. Apple bypassed its trusty aluminum body for a glass panel finish, similar to the iPhone 4 from back in the day. This allowed the company to add wireless charging, a major feature iPhones have long been missing.

The iPhone 7 is a year old, compared to the iPhone 8, but it still holds its own. The A10 Fusion chip is still snappy, the aluminum build still feels premium and overall, it looks very similar the iPhone 8. Excluding the new glass back, Apple didn’t change the design at all.

Unless wireless charging is a deal breaker for you, it might be a better proposition to take up the iPhone 7 at its cheaper price tag that will save you a couple hundred bucks over the iPhone 8.
