iPhone 8 event and launch date may have leaked

According to Mac4Ever, citing carrier sources, Apple will hold an iPhone-related event on September 12, which is a Tuesday. For what it’s worth, the Cupertino company held last year’s iPhone event on Wednesday, September 7.

Apple is expected to unveil three iPhones at this year’s event, including the iPhone 7s, iPhone 7s Plus, and iPhone 8 (or iPhone Edition). The headliner, of course, will be the iPhone 8, which many believe will feature an edge-to-edge OLED screen and support wireless charging.

Apple typically holds events in early- to mid-September, so Mac4Ever’s report doesn’t seem all that unreasonable. If Apple does unveil its next iPhones on September 12, pre-orders will likely be live on Friday, September 15 followed by an official launch on Friday, September 22.

There have been several leaks ahead of Apple’s big event, several of which came from software meant for the company’s HomePod. With the Note 8 now in the books, it’s Apple’s turn to show the world what it’s made of.
