Ever since the release of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, a worthy follow-up has been hard to come by. Three sequels/reboots and a TV series have been attempted, with the most recent being Terminator: Genisys in 2015, but none quite lived up to T2’s lofty standards. You can add a fourth attempt to the list, because a revival of Terminator is happening with James Cameron on board in some capacity and Deadpool director Tim Miller set to direct.
According to The Tracking Board, Skydance Media, which owns the rights to Terminator, signed a new deal with Paramount Pictures for four movies that includes an “Untitled Terminator Revival Project.†The project is moving forward with James Cameron serving as a creative consultant of some form and Tim Miller, best known for Deadpool, signing on to helm the director’s chair.
