The mobile-based spinoff of Animal Crossing drops you into a campsite that must be managed and grown over time. It’s similar to previous titles in that you’re fostering relationships and designing living spaces. The only difference is the setting being a campsite, not a town. The better your campsite is, the more people will move in.
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp even keeps franchise mainstays like the Nook family and Able Sisters. So, if you’re a longtime Animal Crossing fan, you’ll feel right at home. And being that this is a mobile-based spinoff, Nintendo is allowing players to visit their friends’ campsites for inspiration.
When the game becomes available later this week, you won’t have to pay anything to play. Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is free-to-play with microtransactions making Nintendo money. That’s good for you, but it’s possible reaching a high level of success will take some time without paying.
